An auto broker is a licensed professional who arranges a vehicle lease, finance, or purchase on the buyer's behalf — locating the exact car, negotiating the price with dealers, and handling the paperwork. Unlike a dealership, a broker doesn't own inventory or represent a manufacturer; they work for the buyer, not the seller. In New York, auto brokers are licensed and bonded by the state.

How does an auto broker work?

You tell the broker what you want — make, model, trim, and options. The broker draws on relationships across many dealers and lenders to source the vehicle and negotiate terms, then presents one clear number instead of the back-and-forth of a showroom. Because a broker places many deals, dealers compete for that volume, which often means a better price than a single buyer can get alone. The broker handles financing, registration, and paperwork, and can deliver the vehicle directly to you.

• Anyone can use one. Brokers once served mostly the luxury market; today we work with all buyers, from a single personal car to full corporate fleets.

And your factory warranty stays intact

Because your vehicle is supplied directly by a franchised dealer, the title transfers straight from the dealership to you — so you're the original owner with your full factory warranty. Some brokers buy the car first and resell it to you, quietly becoming the original owner and potentially limiting your coverage. We never do that.
